Acceptance controls

Adiabatischer Rueckkuehler

Heat exchangers often face strict acoustical requirements, e.g. 40 dB(A) in a distance of 10 m. For devices available on the market, e.g. manufactured by Fa. Cabero Wärmetauscher GmbH & Co. KG, it could be proven that in spite of a high cooling capacity, such acoustical requirements were met by acoustically optimised devices. Acceptance controls on such quiet appliances can be performed during the night only due to disturbing noise from other sources. Since the disturbing noise still too much influences a measurement using sound pressure (in spite of measuring during the night), we determine the sound power level according to DIN EN 13487 in connection to DIN EN ISO 9614-1 (sound intensity method).

Suppliers of sound enclosures often have to guarantee certain values of the insertion loss in order to achieve the sound level reduction that is required.
By performing standard-compliant acceptance controls according to DIN EN ISO 11546-2 at the manufacturer’s or in situ at the plant that has been equipped with the sound enclosure we check whether the values guaranteed are met.

In approval notices for commercial plants, the issuing authority often requires an acceptance control according to the technical guidelines about noise (“TA Lärm”) after start of operation. Being an accredited testing laboratory according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 for noise, we perform standard-compliant immission measurements according to the technical guidelines about noise (“TA Lärm”) in the neighbourhood of commercial plants and document the results in standard-compliant testing reports that meet the requirements stated by the authorities.
